PMTA Keystone Concerto Festival
- Online registration will open on October 14 and close on Sunday, October 27.
The teacher is responsible for registering students on the site, and for informing the students and parents of the rules, date, time etc. This applies to the Sutton Festival at both the local and state levels, and equally to the Competitions and Concerto Festival, which occurs only at the state level.

Pennsylvania MTNA Competitions
The 2024 Pennsylvania state MTNA performance competitions will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Lebanon Valley College. Applications open in August for all categories and levels must be submitted online at the MTNA website prior to Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
Chamber Music, Brass, and Voice applications open Nov. 1, 2024 and videos must be submitted no later than Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Please see the MTNA competitions website for more details.

PMTA Keystone Composition Competition
April 1, 2025
Eligibility:
Students must reside in Pennsylvania or study with a teacher with an established studio in Pennsylvania. Non MTNA-PMTA member teachers welcome, though an additional fee will be charged.
Elementary – Age 5-10 as of January 1
Junior – Age 11-14 as of January 1
Senior – Age 15-18 as of January 1
Young Artist – Age 19-25 as of January 1
Deadline: April 1, 2025
Entry requirements:
The following length requirements apply:
Elementary & Junior – 16 measures minimum
Senior & Young Artist – 32 measures minimum
Total performance time will not exceed 15 minutes. For all classes, the composition may be in any recognized tonal or atonal style for any instrument or style.

PMTA Keystone Chamber Music Competition
March 8, 2025 at Lycoming College
- There are two application categories, as well as two age categories in the Keystone Chamber Music Competition. For ensembles coached by a PMTA member-teacher, the membership dues must be paid by the application deadline; the entry fee is $100 per ensemble. Non MTNA-PMTA member coaches will be charged a $50 nonmember teacher fee in addition to the $100 ensemble fee.
The two age categories are:
- Pre-College Division: All performers must be between 11 and 19 years of age as of March 8, 2025. No ensemble members may be enrolled in college.
- Young Artist Division: All performers must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of March 8, 2025.
- PMTA Teachers may enter more than one ensemble in each category, Pre-College and Young Artist Division. PMTA reserves the right to cancel a competition age category if there is insufficient statewide
participation in that category.
